
Volleyball in Action at Home for Kent State Invitational

Volleyball opens the 2022 home schedule this weekend as it hosts the Kent State Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
First-year head coach Haley Eckerman will make her M.A.C. Center debut against Southern Indiana on Friday at 7 p.m. The Golden Flashes will start Saturday's action against Cornell at 10 a.m. and bring the tournament to a close against Oakland at 7 p.m. All six matches of the invitational will be streamed on BoxCast.

PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State (2-1) started the season with 3-1 victories against UAlbany and Robert Morris last Friday at the JMU Invitational. After losing a back-and-forth second set to host James Madison, 31-29, to fall behind 2-0 on Saturday night, the Golden Flashes fought back to send it to a fifth set, losing 15-4.
Graduate students Alex Haffner and Danie Tyson earned spots on the all-tournament team for their outstanding play during the weekend.
Senior Gracey Jarecke was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
UP NEXT
Kent State will head back on the road next weekend for three matches as part of the Marshall Invite in Huntington, West Virginia.
