Nuchsila Shines as Flashes Surge to Third on Opening Day of Mercedez Benz

Knoxville, TENN... The Kent State women's golf team will be flying high heading into the final round of the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate, after surging to the top of a loaded field on Monday.
Noramal Nuchsila played some of the best golf of her collegiate career to start the week, carding a 68 in the opener and a 66 in round two to sit alone in third going into Tuesday's finale.
Nuchsila wasn't the lone Golden Flash in the top-25 as reigning MAC Freshman of the Year Jennifer Gu finished round two tied for 16th with reigning MAC Player of the Week close behind in 21st.
Kent State will look to chase down #9 Virginia and #35 UCF on Tuesday, looking to finish strong and build on a third place finish in their season opener last week.
The Flashes will be paired with Virginia Tech and Michigan for the final round on Tuesday with a tee time of 8:45 ET. Live scoring can be found on GolfStat.com.
