
Beauty and the Beast Makes Its Return to the M.A.C. Center on Sunday

KENT, Ohio – Kent State's Beauty and the Beast event, where gymnastics and wrestling compete simultaneously within the M.A.C. Center, makes its return for the first time in four years on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Wrestling will be taking on Clarion while gymnastics will play host to Western Michigan in their home opener.
ADMISSION
Tickets for Sunday's event start at $15 and can be purchased here. As with all Kent State Athletics home contests, students will receive free admission by presenting their FlashCard at the door.

PROMOTIONS
"Beauty and the Beast" characters will be in attendance to interact with fans and take photos prior to, and during, the event. There will also be a photobooth available for fans, brought to you by Water Street Tavern.
Giveaways will be available throughout the meet.
Following the conclusion of the competition, there will be a joint autograph session featuring student-athletes from both teams.
EVENT SETUP
The gymnastics competition will take place on the North end of the M.A.C. Center floor, which is near where the uneven bars are usually set up. The wrestling mat will be on the South end of the floor, which is closer to the fan entrance.
This distinct layout event will allow fans to enjoy the different aspects of both sports at the same time.
HISTORY OF BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Kent State hosted its first Beauty and the Beast event in 2013. Gymnastics and wrestling are both 3-2 in Beauty and the Beast competitions.

2014: Gymnastics def. N.C. State, 195.400-194.150; Wrestling def. N.C. State, 23-14
2015: Gymnastics def. Pitt, 195.750-191.175; Wrestling def. Eastern Michigan, 25-9
2017: Gymnastics lost to #25 West Virginia, 195.950-194.875; Wrestling lost to #1 Oklahoma State, 36-6
2019: Gymnastics lost to Central Michigan, 195.175-194.925; Wrestling lost to Central Michigan, 23-12.
