The Flashes Celebrate International Night Hosting Central Michigan

Kent, Oh. - The Kent State men's basketball team (17-4, 7-1 MAC) starts the week at home hosting International Night on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The Flashes will play the Central Michigan University Chippewas (8-13, 3-5 MAC). Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. and airs on 850 AM ESPN Cleveland.
The Flashes are looking to stay undefeated at home against the Chippewas as they are 10-0 inside the M.A.C. Center. The Flashes hold a 17-0 record at home, putting them second in the Nation behind UCLA for the longest home game win streak.
The Golden Flashes continue to dominate on defense as they lead the MAC with an 11.4 scoring margin while holding opponents to a 39 field goal percentage. They also lead the MAC averaging a 5.43 turnover margin and 9.48 steals per game.
Forward Chris Payton has been a crucial part of the Flashes' offense and defense success, recording a career-high of five blocks against Buffalo. Payton is now tied for fifth in Kent State history for single-game blocks. Sincere Carry continues to throw up double-digit numbers with 24 points against Buffalo on Jan. 27. Carry has recorded double-digits in 19 games, including six with 20+ points.
Scouting Central Michigan Chippewas
The Central Michigan Chippewas (8-13,3-5 MAC) are fresh off a victory against Western Michigan, 70-69. The Chippewas' bench played a vital role in the success, scoring half of the points and was able to break its three-game losing streak.
The Chippewas are second in the MAC for offensive rebounds averaging 11.8 per game. Guard Jesse Zarzuela leads the team with 17.1 points per game and a 37.5 three-point percentage.
Central Michigan is looking to break the tie for 8th place in the MAC with a win to put them ahead of Ohio University. During the 2021-2022 season, Central Michigan beat Kent State in the M.A.C. Center breaking their at-home winning streak, and costing them the first seed in the Mid-American Conference.
