Kent, Oh - The Kent State men's basketball team (12-3) returns home for conference play, hosting the University of Toledo Rockets (10-5). The Flashes are currently undefeated (7-0) in the M.A.C Center and hold a six-game win streak. This will be the only time the two teams will meet this season. With a win against Toledo, the Flashes would be 8-0 at home for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
The Flashes are in a four-way tie for first place and were picked to win the league, while the Rockets were selected runner-up and are a game behind in the standings. The Flashes have won the last two meetings against the Rockets, winning by double digits.
Defensive efforts have been key to the Flashes' success on the court. Malique Jacobs (3.2) and Sincere Carry (2.1) are leading the Mid-American Conference in steals. Carry has not only been a threat on defense but offensively as well. In the Flashes' previous game against Miami Carry tied his season high of 31 points. Carry has scored double-digits in fourteen games this year including five 20+ point games.
The Flashes are currently ranked eighth in the nation with 10.3 steals per game, 11th with 18.0 forced turnovers, and 16th in defense field goal percentage (38.4).
