KENT- Your Golden Flashes return home on Saturday, October 21st against the Buffalo Bulls (2-5, 2-1) in the annual homecoming game and a GOLD OUT at Dix Stadium, kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
Saturday's game is on ESPN+ with Anthony Lima and Ryan Cavanaugh on the call. Fans can also turn into 1220AM WHKW and listen to Rob Polinsky, Tom Evans and Dane Richardson bring you all the action. Pre-game starts at 3 p.m.
The Flashes return home after a 28-14 setback at Eastern Michigan in the wind and rain last Saturday. Jaylen Thomas posted a season-best 95 yards rushing in the contest and Luke Floriea grabbed a pair of touchdown passes. Thomas currently ranks fifth in the MAC in rushing at 81 yards per game. Chrishon McCray continues to lead the MAC in catches (21), yards (268) and average (89.3) through three conference games.
Buffalo comes into Saturday off a 24-14 loss to Bowling Green at home last weekend. The Bulls are paced by the rushing tandem of Ron Cook Jr and Mike Washington Jr. Both backs have averaged over four yards per carry and 50 yards per game this season. Both Cole Snyder and CJ Ogbonna saw time at quarterback last weekend, Snyder has seen most of the snaps this season and has tossed 11 touchdowns. The Flashes will be tasked with stopping a trio of Bull receivers, Cole Harrity, Marlyn Johnson and Darrell Harding all have over 200 yards receiving this season.
Both team's defenses have allowed just over 300 yards per contest in MAC play. The Bulls have been an opportunistic defense, leading the MAC with five interceptions with two (both against CMU) returned for scores.
Saturday's meeting will be the 29th all-time between the schools and will break the 14-14 tie. Kent State has won each of the last two meetings including a 30-27 overtime comeback win last season in Buffalo.
