Back to Back! Takagi Earns Second Straight MAC Golfer of The Week

Leon Takagi earned her second consecutive MAC women's golfer of the week award, marking the third such honor for the Golden Flashes this Fall.
The sophomore placed third for the second consecutive tournament, which marks her third top ten finish in five tournaments this Fall.Â
The Tokyo native shot a total score of 208 at the Mercedes-Benz Invitational finishing at five under par (-5) in a field of two top 15 teams and three top 25 teams. Takagi surged on the back nine on the final day notching five birdies in a seven hole stretch.Â
The sophomore tied for a tournament best seven under on par fives.Â
"It was great to see Leon put herself in a position to win!" said head coach Casey VanDamme. "She had a good fall and we look forward to seeing her improvement in the spring."
Kent State will return to action in February, competing in the UCF Challenge from Feb. 4-6.
