
Baidy Ba Earns All-Region Honors with Record-Setting Performance

MADISON, Wis. — Junior Baidy Ba broke his own Kent State cross country 10K record with a personal-best time of 30:02.4 to finish 13th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday.
With his second straight top-25 finish at the meet, Ba is the first Golden Flash to earn multiple All-Region honors. The junior made his move during the fourth 2K split and sat ninth with just 2K remaining before dropping back out of the top-10.
Kent State's next three men across the finish line all ran personal-best times. Sophomore Dylan McBride (32:06.7) placed 129th, senior Ethan Yost (32:19.8) placed 138th and graduate student Trey Double (32:28.2) placed 143rd. The Flashes placed 21st out of 30 in the team standings.
Junior Sydney Gallagher led the women's team in the 6K with a time of 22:54.3 for 140th place. Sophomore Karsyn Spears also recorded a top-150 finish with a personal-best time of 23:02.1. Kent State placed 26th out of 32 in the team standings.
