
Flashes Sink the Pirates in Paradise Jam Tournament

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS - The Flashes eased by the Pirates as they concluded their first of three games in the Paradise Jam Tournament with a 100-62 victory. The Flashes will look to bounce back quickly as they take on the winner of tonight's game between Missouri State and Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, Nov. 19. Tip-off time is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will be available on ESPN+.
The Flashes started the first half off strong going on a six-point run with a shot from Reggie Bass just seconds in. Hampton immediately turned the ball over giving the Flashes another shot from the field. Chris Payton Jr. led the game with 20 points and eight boards.
The Flashes turned Hampton's turnover into points, recording 18. The Flashes as a whole also recorded 20 second-chance points. Both Cli'Ron Hornbeak and Jalen Sullinger contributed double-digits helping the Flashes reach another century mark. The Flashes made history recording the fourth most points in Paradise Jam Tournament history.
With the Flashes taking the lead from the start, every player on the Kent State Roster was able to get minutes on the court. The Flahes' bench was crucial to helping the Flashes with their 30+ point victory recording 38 points. VonCameron Davis shot perfectly in the first half shooting 3-of-3 from the field and 2-of-2 from the three. Jake Snyder made his presence known as he was fouled on after making a layup and recorded the Flashes' 100th point in the final seconds of the game.

Next up, the Golden Flashes will play the winner of tonight's game between Missouri State and Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, Nov. 19 for the semifinals of the Paradise Jam Tournament.
