
Kent State Hosts Lake Erie Tuesday for Annual Field Trip Game

The Kent State women's basketball team returns to action at the M.A.C. Center against Lake Erie on Tuesday at 11 a.m. for School Field Trip Day presented by Ohio's 529 College Advantage. More than 1,000 students from local elementary schools are expected at the game.
The Golden Flashes (4-4) were last in action on Dec. 18, falling to Duquesne in double overtime, 89-82. Sophomore Corynne Hauser earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors for her performance in the contest. Hauser scored a season-high 19 points, grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds and recorded seven assists against the Dukes. Junior Jenna Batsch also had 19 points for a new career-high.
Forward Jenna Batsch has been among the most improved players in the Mid-American Conference this season and is the leading scorer at 11.6 points per game. Preseason All-MAC First Team guard Katie Shumate adds 10.5 points per game and team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. Guard Corynne Hauser averages 4.0 assists per game, which ranks fifth in the conference, in addition to scoring 10.3 points per game. Center Mikala Morris (9.4 ppg), forward Janae Tyler (7.6 ppg) and forward Bridget Dunn (7.0 ppg, 6.6 rpg) have also posted double-digit scoring performances. Dunn averages a career-high 6.6 rebounds per game and leads the Flashes with 16 three-point field goals.
Scouting Lake Erie
The Storm (1-7) average just 50.5 points per game and have scored more than 55 just twice this season. Guard Anna Ibos is the leading scorer at 10.9 points per game and had a career-high 21 points against Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday. Forward Kylie Maxwell (6.1 ppg) grabs a team-high 5.1 rebounds per game.
