
Flashes Return to the M.A.C. Center to Host the Eagles

Kent, Oh. - The Kent State men's basketball team (21-5, 11-2 MAC) is back home to host Eastern Michigan (6-20, 3-10 MAC) on Friday, Feb. 17. Action will be live on CBS Sports Network with tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
Kent State is currently on a three-game win streak including a 24-point win against the WMU Broncos. With a standout performance last week, Kent State is now ranked No. 8 in the Mid-Major Top 25 and secured its spot in the MAC tournament. They are now looking to keep their win streak alive and get their 20th win in a row at home.
Guard Sincere Carry continues to lead the offense averaging 16.3 points and 5.1 assists per game. Malique Jacobs has also been a major asset as he leads the MAC and is second in the NCAA with 3.0 steals per game. Going into tomorrow night's game Jacobs' is only two steals away from breaking the single-season steal record at Kent State with 74.
The Flashes are looking to sweep the Eagles after a 77-63 win earlier this season. The Flashes have dominated inside the M.A.C. Center. The Flashes hold a +19.6 scoring margin at home shooting 46.6 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from the three, and 76.0 percent from the charity stripe. The Flashes are ranked 12th with an 80.8 winning percentage and 21st with a +11 scoring margin.
Scouting the Eagles
Eastern Michigan (6-20, 3-10 MAC) is looking to secure a win after being on a four-game losing streak. The Eagles are currently seventh in the MAC conference with a 3-10 record. The Eagles' most recent game was a loss against Akron at home 78-51.
Recently, guard Tyson Acuff has been the Eagles' standout player. Acuff is ending the week as MAC Co-Player of the Week after averaging 35.5 points and shooting almost 70 percent from the field and 64.7 percent from three. Along with Acuff is Eagles' offensive leader Emoni Bates who is second in the MAC and 23rd in the NCAA averaging 20.2 points per game. Bates reached the 500-point marker on the season with his 13 points against Akron. He also leads the team with 5.6 rebounds and 0.5 steals per game.
The Eagles average 73.5 points per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 76.5 percent from the free throw line.
