Gymnastics Hosts Ball State in Pink Meet on Sunday

KENT, Ohio โย The Kent State gymnastics team will host Mid-American Conference rival Ball State at 1 p.m. in the M.A.C. Center on Sunday as part of the Golden Flashes' annual Pink Meet.ย
LAST TIME OUT
The Flashes beat Bowling Green 195.625-195.025 on Sunday, Feb. 11, as senior Karlie Franz won on vault and tied for first place on floor.
The Flashes opened the meet on bars. Franz led the way for Kent State, scoring a 9.875 to take second in the event while junior Sarah Haxton placed third with a 9.825. Senior Olivia Amodei scored a 9.800 as the Flashes combined for a 49.050 team score.
Franz won on vault with a 9.850 to lead the Flashes. Junior Kyndall Gilbert finished tied for second with a 9.825. Freshman Zoe Rankin recorded a new personal-best mark with a 9.775. The Flashes combined for a 48.925, their highest vault score so far this season.
On floor, Franz scored a 9.900 to tie for the event crown. The senior has now eclipsed the 9.900 mark in four consecutive meets. Sophomore Alyssa Guns continued her strong season in the event with a 9.875 to place third. Senior Kennedy Weinpert and sophomore Grace Wehry both totaled 9.850 for their routines as the Flashes combined for a 49.300.
Guns led the way for the Flashes on beam, finishing second in the event with 9.800. Wehry and Rankin both scored 9.750 to tie for third place. The Flashes combined for a 48.400 in the last rotation.
Entering this week, the Flashes are ranked #18 in the nation on floor in the latestย Road to Nationalsย rankings.ย
SERIES STATS
Sunday marks the 59th-ever meeting between the Flashes and Cardinals and the second of the season. Last month,ย Ball State won the Tennessee Collegiate Classic while the Flashes finished third in the five-team meet.The Flashes hold a 44-14 advantage in the all-time series.
