
Pasqualetti Wins Third Consecutive Pole Vault Title at MAC Indoor T&F Championships

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Junior Leah Pasqualetti won the pole vault for third year in a row as Kent State finished fourth at the Mid-American Conference Women's Track and Field Championships.
The Golden Flashes totaled 73.5 points, just one behind host Bowling Green for third. Rival Akron placed 10th with 32.5 points, giving Kent State a point in the Crystal Clinic Wagon Wheel Challenge standings.
Pasqualetti cleared 13'-1.5" to become the first student-athlete to capture three consecutive indoor pole vault titles since 2002. Angelina Lotarski tied for third place with a height of 11'-10", giving the Flashes 15.5 points in the event.
Kent State scored 10 points in both the shot put and 800-meter run. Aliesha Shaw finished second in the shot put with a throw of 55'-9" to earn All-MAC honors. Meghan Daly also scored with a mark of 44'-3.25" for seventh place. Karsyn Spears ran a personal-best time of 2:11.31 for third in the 800m, while Anna Jones crossed the finish line in 2:15.42 for fifth.
The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Taylor Korytkowski, Alexandria Verbancic, Spears and Ruby Greenwood placed third in 3:50.66.
Svenia De Coninck earned Freshman of the Year honors for her performance over the two-day competition. De Coninck placed fourth in the pentathlon on Friday with a score of 3,692, which ranks fourth in school history, and added a sixth-place finish in the high jump on Saturday with a height of 5'-7".
