Flashes Defeat the Falcons in Final Road Game of the Regular Season

Bowling Green, OH - The Kent State men's basketball (23-6, 13-3 MAC) team takes home a 79-69 win over Bowling Green Saturday evening. In a back-and-forth game, the Flashes were able to hold onto the second spot in the Mid-American Conference.
In a game with six lead changes and nine ties, neither team seemed to get the lead until the final minutes of the game. Despite the Flashes outshooting the Falcons in the first half, the Flashes struggled with fouls and the Falcons took advantage shooting 92.3 percent from the charity stripe. The Falcons kept the momentum up going on a 12-2 run coming out of the second media timeout. The Flashes continued to battle as Jalen Sullinger hit a three coming out of a timeout tying the game at 30 points. The Falcons ended the first 20 minutes with a 9-2 run, taking a 42-37 lead into the halftime break.
After regrouping the Flashes came ready to close out the second half of the game. Malique Jacobs carried the Flashes with a game-high 19 points and five assists. With Jacobs' 19 points, he recorded 1,000 career points at Kent State. Jacobs also recorded six rebounds and two steals. Sincere Carry showed up and recorded double-digits in the second half tallying a total of 18 points and a game-high seven assists.
Jalen Sullinger was the last Flash to record double digits. Sullinger had 14 points shooting 50 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from the three, and 75 percent from the free throw line. VonCameron Davis cleaned the boards with a game-high 10 rebounds and a plus/minus 18 points.
The Flashes finished with 40 rebounds, 32 points in the paint, and shot 44.8 percent from the field.

The Flashes return home to the M.A.C. Center for their final two games of the regular season. The Flashes will start with Ohio on Tuesday, Feb. 28. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be live on ESPN+ or can be heard on ESPN Cleveland. The Flashes will end their season with a rivalry game against TSDTR on Friday, March 3. Tip-off time is scheduled for 6:00 PM and will be live on ESPNU or can be heard on ESPN Cleveland.
