
Farley Runs PR in 5K Friday at Meyo Invite

Joe Farley ran the third fastest 5,000-meter time in Kent State history to headline six Golden Flashes who competed on Friday.

Joe Farley led the way in the men's 5,000m with a personal-best time of 14:14.41 to place fourth and put him at No. 3 on Kent State's all-time indoor performance list. Jonah Cuestas also recorded a PR and finished in 14:54.08.
In the women's 5K, Sydney Gallagher finished 15th in 18:04.57 and Nina Zraik was close behind in 18th with a time of 18:10.08.
Akron Invitational
Mason Murphy totaled 2,645 points and sits 41 behind the leader after the opening day of heptathlon action. Murphy opened the competition by winning the 60-meter dash in 7.23 seconds and also won the final of event of the day, clearing 6'-4.5" in the high jump.
Josh Dreves also had a strong showing and sits in fourth with 2,457 points. Dreves won the long jump with a mark of 21'-3.5".
