2/4/2023 2:44:00 PM | Women's Golf
Orlando, FLA... With the winter break officially in the books, the Kent State women's golf team, ranked 20th in the nation by GolfStat, will return to Florida to hit the links for this year's UCF Challenge
The Golden Flashes are coming off of a very successful fall campaign, that saw the team win the Sunflower Invitational, and post top four finishes at the Dick McGuire Invitational and Mercedes Benz Championship.
Individually, Kent State will begin the spring with two individuals ranked in the GolfStat top 100, with Mayka Hoogeboom checking in at #78, while Noramol Nuchsila checks in at #91.
Hoogeboom in particular played exceptional golf in the first half of the season, collecting individual wins at both the Dick McGuire and Sunflower Invitationals.
This event will give Kent State another opportunity to establish themselves among some of the best, with four other top 25 teams in #2 Wake Forest, #6 Texas A&M, #11 Mississippi State, and #23 Iowa State filling out a stout field that includes several others in the GolfStat top 50.
Sunday's action is set to start with an 8:30 morning tee time, and Kent State will be paired with Iowa State and Texas A&M to lead off the opening round.
Live scoring throughout the event can be found on GolfStat.com.
