Three Flashes Named Scholar All-Americans, Squad Named to Scholar Top-30

MANHEIM, Penn. – Four Kent State wrestlers earned a spot on the Scholar All-America Team while the squad as a whole earned a top-10 ranking in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar Top-30.

The Golden Flashes placed 9th nationally with a 3.4644 team GPA. Additionally, Jake Ferri, Mason Karpinski and Mason Lycnh all earned Scholar All-American honors for ther first time in their careers. For individuals to be named to the Scholar All-America team, they must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA, been an NCAA qualifier and won 60 percent of his total schedule or have been an NCAA All-American with at least a 3.0 GPA.

In total, 291 wrestlers from 73 institutions were recognized for the academic performance as well as their commitment to the sport of wrestling.
