Kent State Sits Three Strokes Back at MAC Championship

Athens, ALA… With the opening round of this year's Mid-American Conference Championship in the books, the Kent State men's golf team will have work to do as they sit three strokes back of the lead in a tie for fourth.
Central Michigan and Bowling Green share the lead at three strokes over par, followed by Miami, who sits just one stroke ahead of the Flashes at five over.
The entire Kent State lineup finds itself inside the top 16, with Chris Vandette and Bryce Reed in a tie for ninth, and the remaining trio just one stroke back in a tie for 16th.
Now that everyone has had one round to acclimate to this brand new course, the Flashes will have an opportunity to catch up on Monday, with an 8AM tee time scheduled to restart the action, and Kent State pairing with Ohio and NIU.
