KENT-The Golden Flashes wrap up a four-game road trip this weekend, heading out to Bowling Green for a three-game conference slate with the Falcons.
Kent State enters the weekend at 6-3 in the MAC, percentage points behind Ohio for second in conference. Bowling Green is a game and a half back at 6-6 Â in league play.
It will be one of the league's best offenses against the league's best pitching staff this weekend. Kent State is averaging over seven runs per game in MAC play and hitting .289 as a club. Bowling Green owns a league best 3.35 earned run average through 12 MAC games so far.
The Flashes have had an extremely balanced offensive attack against league foes, four players are tied for the team lead with eight runs driven in. They will go against Peyton Wilson and Gage Schenk, on Friday and Saturday, the duo both own ERA at 3.00 or below over 23 innings of work.
On the flip side, Bowling Green is hitting .201 as a team through 12 league games. They are led by reigning MAC Player of the Week, Nathan Rose, who has driven in 12 so far in conference play on the strength of four homers. Kent State will toss a trio of lefties against the Falcons. Ben Cruikshank and Joe Whitman have each won a Pitcher of the Week award this year and Eric Chalus has allowed only four earned runs over his last 17.1 innings pitched.
Only Sunday's game will have a stream this weekend, with the finale of the three-game set airing on ESPN+. The Falcons will have live stats available for all three games this weekend.
Your Golden Flashes return home on Tuesday for a non-conference tilt with the Pitt Panthers. First pitch from Schoonover is set for 6 p.m.
