KENT- The Golden Flashes nabbed their second Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week as Aaron Ferguson earned the honor for his efforts at the Franklin and Marshall Open on Friday.
Ferguson went 5-1 in the open tournament, finishing in fifth place. The finish is the highest place for a Golden Flash wrestler at the F and M open in three appearances. Ferguson's only loss on the day came against the number three seed in the quarterfinals. He then ripped through the wrestle backs, taking victories by technical fall and major decision. In the fifth-place bout, Ferguson got a no-decision against Flo Wrestling's #32 wrestler and the Open's fourth seed.
The victories move Ferguson to 12-8 on the season including 8-2 in his last 10 matches. He and the Golden Flashes will travel to Virginia for the 43rd Virginia Duals. Kent State will open the tournament on Friday against Virginia and South Dakota State.
