Buffalo would answer back just a minute later to level the score at one a piece. That score would hold going into the half time break.
The Flashes came out of the break with a rejuvenated energy and applied a high press on the Bull's back line. Dolinski would come up and put pressure in the Buffalo left back who played a pass that deflected off the freshman and would land at the feet of another freshman, Addy Cusick, who slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net to put the Flashes ahead in the 52nd minute.
The bulls would equalize again in the 69th minute when a long free kick sailed into the Flashes' net. Kent State would keep the offensive intensity up firing five shots in the last 20 minutes but were unable to find the game-winning goal.
