
Flashes Announce Partnership Extension with 850 ESPN Cleveland

KENT, Ohio - The Golden Flashes announce an extended partnership with 850 ESPN Cleveland for year three of broadcasting select men's and women's basketball games through the rest of the 2024-25 regular season.
In addition to broadcasting select games, the partnership includes "5 Good Minutes with Windy", a weekly hoops-focused chat with Brian "Windy" Windhorst hosted on ESPN Cleveland's YouTube page. One of the most well-known and well-respected names among NBA media personalities, Windy is also a Kent State alum, co-hosts the show with Chris Oldach from The Really Big Show, with a focus on all things NBA and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The majority of the men's basketball schedule will again air on 850 ESPN Cleveland, along with a several of the women's games. The full list of dates will be available on kentstatesports.com.

"Having our games broadcasted has provided great exposure for our student-athletes as well as our University. It's also helped us engage our fans and alumni base in Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio region."
850 ESPN Cleveland is one of the top sports-broadcasting leaders in Northeast Ohio and across the Buckeye State, serving as the flagship station for the Cleveland Browns. In addition to airing on 850 ESPN Cleveland, broadcasts will still be available through the Go Flashes and Varsity apps and can now also be streamed on espncleveland.com and through the ESPN app.
The Kent State women's basketball program, led by Head Coach Todd Starkey, returns as the reigning MAC Champions, capturing its first title in 20 years. The men's program, under the direction of Head Coach Rob Senderoff, advanced to its third straight title game and continues to hold one of the longest home win records. The Golden Flashes will open the season on November 4, with the women hosting James Madison, while the men travel to Louisiana for the MAC/Sun Belt Challenge.
