KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's golf team has announced the signing of Alexa Prettyman as part of the 2025 freshman class.
Prettyman is a native of Dublin, Ohio, where she attended Dublin Jerome High School, serving as a team captain in her junior and senior years. Throughout her high school career, she played in a program-record 89 varsity matches, shooting 22 rounds of par or better with a low round of 67. Prettyman helped lead Dublin Jerome to a team state championship in 2023 and team runner-up honors in 2022 and 2024.
Individually, Prettyman was the state runner-up in 2023, helping her earn First-Team All-Ohio recognition. At the 2023 PGA National High School Championship, she posted a 1-under-par score across three rounds, finishing as the low Ohioan at the event and qualifying for the 2024 USGA four-ball.
Alexa is the daughter of Michael and Sherri Prettyman. She also has one brother, Evan.
"We are very excited Alexa has decided to join our program," head coach Casey VanDamme said. "Alexa's speed and athleticism are her strengths and will transition well to the next level. Throughout the recruiting process, we were impressed with her commitment to being a great teammate, player, and student. We look forward to helping her achieve her lofty goals!"
