CLEVELAND, Ohio- Senior forward Alisa Arthur has earned Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Saturday.
Arthur scored a brace for the Golden Flashes in a pivotal 4-2 victory over Bowling Green Thursday afternoon. Arthur's first goal tied the game at two and came in the 66th minute when Allison Collins played a perfect through ball up to the senior who took a few touches around the keeper to slot the ball home.
The senior's second goal added insurance for Kent State in the 84th minute. Sam Miller played a pass that caused the Falcon defender some trouble, but Arthur stayed composed and buried the ball in the bottom corner of the net with her left foot.
Arthur and the Flashes are back in action Sunday afternoon as fourth-seeded Kent State hosts fifth-seeded Miami in a MAC Tournament Quarterfinal match up. Kickoff for that game is set for 1 p.m.
