
Track and Field Alum Quintin Cooks Awarded Go Teach Dr Pepper Giveaway

Cooks was a five-year a member of the Kent State men's track and field program. He is earning a Master of Arts in Teaching, with an Early Childhood Education Licensure, and will graduate his masters program this December before officially starting his career in January. He earned Magna Cum Laude honors in his undergraduate degree of Applied Communication.
Quintin has been student teaching at Holden Elementary in third grade since last spring, exhibiting a passionate work ethic, competence and enthusiasm for teaching. Quintin has assimilated seamlessly into this classroom experience and loves his students who also adore him.
Athletically, Cooks earned MAC champion honors across in the 800-meter and 4X400-meter relay events as well as garnering conference, CSC and USTFCCA academic accolades over the course of his collegiate career.
In 2023, over $350K in funds was awarded to the third cohort of student-athletes from ten conferences and HBCUs that are pursuing careers in teaching and coaching.
The CFP Foundation and Dr Pepper are dedicated to growing the Go Teach initiative to place qualified teachers in classrooms across the nation. Over the next five years the CFPF and Dr Pepper are awarding a collective $1.5 million in awards to provide support and recognition for student-athletes majoring in education.
