
Kent State Welcomes Mercyhurst for Sunday Matinée Matchup

KENT – The non-conference slate rolls on for the Kent State Men's Basketball team (7-2) on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 5:00 p.m. against the Mercyhurst University Lakers. Following a 76-57 win over Portland on Dec. 6, the Flashes are looking to start the season 8-2 for the first time since the 2019-20 season. Five different Flashes tallied double digits against Portland in a game that saw Jalen Sullinger cross the 1,000 career point mark, and Cian Medley match a career high.
Against the Lakers
The Golden Flashes and Mercyhurst Lakers have met twice in the history of the programs, though it has been 23 years since the last meeting. Kent State welcomed Mercyhurst to the M.A.C. Center on Nov. 19, 2001, where they won 90-68. Previously Mercyhurst came to Kent for a matchup the year before on Nov. 20, 2000, where the Flashes won 90-56.

Sunday's game is themed There's Snow Place Like Kent. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a M.A.C. Center Kent State Basketball snow globe ornament.
