CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference has announced that Saturday's women's basketball contest between Central Michigan University and Kent State University has been canceled as Central Michigan does not have enough available student-athletes. The game will not be rescheduled.
Per Conference rule, the member institution unable to field a team will forfeit the contest. As a result, the Golden Flashes will be credited with a win, while the Chippewas will receive a loss in the conference standings. Overall records will not be impacted as per NCAA policy.
Kent State will be back in action at the M.A.C. Center for two games next week. The Flashes will host Western Michigan on Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Old Dominion on Saturday, Feb. 10.
Be sure to follow the Golden Flashes on X, Instagram and Facebook for news and updates about the team.
