RUSTON, LA- Tim Orr cracked his first home run as a Golden Flash and Dom Kibler kept his hot bat going, but it wasn't enough in a 8-5 setback to Louisiana Tech in the series opener on Friday night.

The Flashes struck first with Ripken Reese scoring on a Dom Kibler double in the top of the second. It's Kibler's third double of the season, all coming in the last two games. The Bulldogs responded with a three-spot in the bottom of the frame. Starter Jack Kartsonas was touched for a two-out, three-run homer that rode the jet stream over the right field wall.

The deficit did not last long as Tim Orr socked his first homer as a Golden Flash in the top of the third. The lefty went to the opposite field and over the left field wall for a game-tying two-run homer. The difference in the game was the five-run fourth for the Bulldogs, capped by a three-run homer to centerfield.

Benny Roebuck kept the Bulldogs' offense at bay with four innings of solid, shutout relief. The righty scattered three hits and struck out three against no walks. In the seventh, the Flashes put a dent in the Tech lead as Michael McNamara hit his second homer of the season, a blast over the left field wall that traveled an estimated 355 feet.

Kent State would get no closer as the Bulldog bullpen, led by Sam Brodersen closed out the contest. The two teams will be back in action on Saturday afternoon with lefty Eric Chalus expected to take the mound, first pitch is set for 3 p.m. ET.
