
Luther Earns All-MAC Honors to Lead KSU Women on Day 1 at MAC Indoor T&F Championships

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Grace Luther placed second in the weight throw to lead Kent State on Friday at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Women's Track and Field Championships.
The Golden Flashes totaled 26 points on Day 1 and sit in fourth place out of 12 teams. Host Eastern Michigan sits atop the standings with 36.5 points.
Kent State scored 14 points in the weight throw with Luther recording a top throw of 62'-10" for All-MAC honors. Briana Wright recorded a personal-best of 59'-11" to finish fifth and Noel Frye took seventh with a mark of 55'-11".
The Flashes added 10 points in the pentathlon. Matilde Carboncini totaled 3,656 points for fourth place and Svenia De Coninck was close behind with 3,642 points for fifth. Shelby Grover placed eighth with 3,489 points.
Kent State also had six student-athletes advance to Saturday finals in running events. Azsah Bradley qualified in the 60-meter dash, Carboncini and Gabrielle Hammonds in the 60-meter hurdles, Taylor Korytkowski in the 200-meter dash, Jericha Petrella in the 400-meter dash and Karsyn Spears in the 800-meter run.
The final day of the championship meet will continue on Saturday with the shot put at 10 a.m. Running events will start at 1:30 p.m. with the mile.
