Flashes Return Home to Host Western Michigan

Kent, OH - The Flashes return to the M.A.C. Center after a 30+ point victory against Buffalo this past weekend. The Kent State men's basketball team defeated Buffalo 83-52 inside Alumni Arena and will look to bring that same success home against Western Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Tip-off time is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.Â
Tomorrow night's game will be live on ESPN+ with Dan Griffin and Jana Ashley on the call. The game can also be heard on WHK 14420 AM with Rob Polinksy.Â
Last Time OutÂ
The Flashes went 1-1 last week with a road win against Buffalo on the road and a home loss to Miami (OH).
The Flashes are now 4-6 in the M.A.C. Center, averaging 80.8 ppg on their home court. Overall, Kent State sits third in the MAC averaging 77.5ppg and third in offensive rebounds at 11.2 per game. The Flashes lead the MAC in three-pointers during conference play shooting 38.6 percent. Jalen Sullinger leads the Flashes with 15.7 points per game in MAC Play. Sullinger has recorded double-digit points in nine of the Flashes' ten MAC games, including a 30-point game against Bowling Green. Davis has recorded double-digits in all of the Flashes' conference games, including three 20+ point games and a double-double in the win over Bowling Green. Giovanni Santiago is hot coming off a team-high 17 points and 10 assists against Buffalo.Â
Key Players for The Broncos
The Broncos are on a three-game losing streak with their most recent defeat on Saturday afternoon against Ball State, 77-67, at University Arena. Three players scored in double-figures for WMU, led by Jefferson De La Cruz Monegro, who tied his career-high with 21 points.
Led by Seth Hubbard's 2.4 three-pointers per game, second-most in the MAC, Western Michigan is fourth in the league with 8.0 triples per contest. Owen Lobsinger has been WMU's most efficient three-point shooter, as he's hitting 41.3 percent for the season, 10th-best in the conference, and 46.7 percent in league play, the fourth-highest mark. The Broncos lead the MAC in conference play with 38.8 rebounds per game. On the road, the Broncos average 69.8ppg and have shot 42.5 percent from the field and 30.7 percent from the three.
Series Matchup
Tuesday marks the 126th meeting between the two teams. The Flashes are on a four-game winning streak against the Broncos. Inside the M.A.C. Center, the Flashes lead the series 43-15. The last time the two teams met was in Kalamazoo last season and the Flashes won 82-58. VonCameron Davis led the team with 21 points.
