
Flashes Open Home Slate Tuesday vs Tiffin

KENT- The Golden Flashes open up the 2024 home slate on Tuesday, welcoming in the Tiffin Dragons for a 2 p.m. first pitch, moved up due to impending afternoon weather.
Kent State puts its 14-game regular-season home win streak on the line when it welcomes in the Dragons. It was the nation's longest home win streak to start the season.
The Flashes took two of three from Jacksonville State to end their eight-game road trip. Tim Orr swung a hot bat last week, hitting .600 and slugging three homers. Orr leads the team hitting .436 with four homers and 11 rbi. Josh Johnson enjoyed a big weekend as well, driving in seven against the Gamecocks in three games, and tying Orr with 11 rbi.
Tiffin is 2-7 on the season and split their road series with Glenville State over the weekend. Junior Ty Hatfield leads the squad with a .344 average while Isaiah Mirabal and Logan Swonger supply the power, each with three homers through nine games. The Dragons hit .290 as a team and average over five runs per game. However, the team has pitched to a 7.93 era.
The two teams have met once previously, with the Flashes defeating Tiffin 15-12 last season. Tuesday's home opener will be streamed and live stats will be available. Fans attending tomorrow's game can pick up a 2024 team schedule poster. The Flashes will stay at home this weekend, welcoming in Central Michigan to start conference play. First pitch on Friday is set for 3 p.m.
