Jackson's Grand Slam Walks-Off Dragons

KENT- Kyle Jackson parked a grand slam down the right field line to cap a six-run ninth for Kent State and a dramatic 11-7 comeback win over Tiffin on Tuesday afternoon at Schoonover Stadium.
Jake Casey worked a walk on a full count to force home a run and Ripken Reese followed suit, setting up Jackson's heroics and the 15th straight regular-season win for the Flashes at Schoonover Stadium.
Logan Swonger led Tiffin with four runs driven in as the Dragons scored two in the second, two in the third and three in the fifth to build their lead. But the next five pitchers for the Flashes put zeros on the board, allowing for the offense to chip away at the lead.
Kent State scored single tallies in each of the first three innings and again in the fifth and the sixth, but couldn't produce the big inning until the ninth. Tim Orr continued his hot streak, collecting four more hits, going 4-for-5 against his former team, including his fifth home run of the season. His 4-for-5 night upped his average to a ridiculous .477 on the season. Josh Johnson also reached base three times and scored a pair of runs and Ripken Reese drove in a pair on the night to balance the offense.
The victory moves Kent State to 4-8 on the season while Tiffin is 2-8. The Flashes stay home to open MAC play on Friday with Central Michigan in town. First pitch on Friday is currently slated for 3 p.m.
