KENT- The Golden Flashes open up Mid-American Conference play as they welcome in the Central Michigan Chippewas for a three-game home series.
Due to forecasted rain on late Friday and Saturday, the teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, starting at 11 a.m.
The Flashes are riding a 15-game regular-season home win streak dating back to last season. The streak continued in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night as Kyle Jackson hit a walk-off grand slam to cap a six-run ninth as Kent State defeated Tiffin, 11-7.
Tim Orr continued his hot streak, going four-for-five against his former team. He has at least two hits in five straight games and is hitting a team-best .477, good for second in the MAC.
Central Michigan is wrapping up a road trip that took them to Oklahoma State and Oral Roberts. They come into the contest at 3-11 on the season and losers of eight straight. Jacob Donahue leads the squad with a .362 average. The Chips have not hit for much power, hitting five homers as a team to date.
Friday's double header will see Jack Kartsonas and Eric Chalus going for the Flashes and Adam Mrakitsch and Keegan Batka going for the Chippewas. Neither team has named a starter for the finale, which is currently slated for Sunday at 1 p.m.
Friday's doubleheader will have a stream available for free but no commentary due to the on-going MAC wrestling championships. Sunday's finale will have a stream with play-by-play. Live stats will be available all series long as well, links are available on the baseball schedule page.
The Flashes stay at home on Tuesday, welcoming in Youngstown State for a non-conference tilt. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
