
Women's Golf Sweeps Specialty Awards, Three Flashes Earn All-MAC Honors

CLEVELAND – After winning its 25th consecutive Mid-American Conference Championship on Tuesday, the Kent State women's golf team was well-represented in the league's postseason awards.
The Flashes swept the MAC specialty awards as Leon Takagi was named the MAC Golfer of the Year, Veronika Kedronova was tabbed as the Freshman of the Year, and Casey VanDamme earned Coach of the Year honors.
Takagi, Kedronova, and Hester Sicking all earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team. The trio also earned MAC All-Tournament Team honors on Tuesday after finishing with the three lowest scores at Pinnacle Golf Course – Takagi and Sicking shared the individual title at +6 whole Kedrovona placed third at +8.
VanDamme has now won Coach of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons.
The Golden Flashes will head west for the regional round of the 2024 Division I Women's Golf Championship Las Vegas Regional at Spanish Trail Country Club. Regional play starts on Monday, May 6.
