INDIANAPOLIS – The Kent State University track and field program has 14 student-athletes who have earned spots to compete at the 2024 NCAA East First Round, the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced on Thursday. First round competition will be held May 22-25 in Lexington, Kentucky.
For each individual event contested at each of the first sites, the top 48 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event, the top 24 declared relay teams were accepted into the competition.
Sprinter Jaheim Jones, who earned Most Valuable Performer and co-Most Outstanding Track Performer accolades for his performance at the Mid-American Conference Championships this past weekend, will be the busiest Golden Flash. Jones will compete in the men's 100-meter dash, men's 200-meter dash and as part of the men's 4x100-meter relay team. Sean Callahan Jr., Logan Doyle and Dejon Manning are also members of the relay team that has set Kent State and MAC Championships records this season.
