Freshman Veronika Kedronova will represent Kent State at the 2024 NCAA Women's Golf Championship, which will be held at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California from May 17-20. Kedronova's weekend begins at 11:52 a.m. ET on Friday from the first tee.
All 30 teams and six individuals will complete 54 holes of stroke play. The top 15 teams along with the top nine individuals will advance for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match-play competition and the 72-hole stroke-play individual champion.
ROAD TO OMNI LA COSTA RESORT
Kedronova earned her spot in the championship field as the top individual from a non-advancing team at the Las Vegas Regional last week. She shot 1-under, 215 to finish in a tie for sixth overall.
The Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year and All-MAC First Team selection has been terrific since the start of April with three consecutive top-six finishes and five rounds of par or better. She started her collegiate career by carding a 9-under, 207 to tie for first at the Dick McGuire Invitational and has a 73.26 scoring average for the season.
KENT STATE AT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Kedronova is the fifth Golden Flash to qualify individually for the NCAA Championships, joining Leon Takagi (2023), Wad Phaewchimplee (2014), Jennifer Ha (2013) and Martina Gillen (2002).
Additionally, Kent State has competed at the championship as a team eight times and advanced to match play in 2017 and 2018. Chloe Salort advanced to the final day of stroke play as an individual during the most recent team appearance in 2021.
