
Jones, Bath Qualify for Friday's Regional Finals

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jaheim Jones and Ayden Bath advanced to Friday's finals in one of their two events Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA East Regional Meet, hosted by the University of Kentucky.
Jones qualified for Friday's finals in the 200-meter dash, clocking 20.32 seconds, a massive personal best of .25 seconds that moves him to number two all-time. Jaheim's time was the fifth fastest in the preliminary round. Bath made it to Friday's finals in the 110-meter hurdles, setting a new personal best of 13.91 and moving to 3rd all-time in program history. Both men can automatically advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. by finishing top three in their heat or by having one of the three fastest non-automatic qualifying times. Jones will run in heat 2, lane 5 at 7:50 p.m. and Bath will run in heat 2, lane 9 at 6:15 p.m.
Other Flashes competing today included pole vaulters Kristian Kneffler and Layne Studer who finished in a tie for 20th place with first-attempt clearances at 17' 1.5". This marked an outdoor best for Studer who is now ranked fifth in program history. Del'Mario Hairston joined Bath in the long jump Hairston jumped 22' 7.75" and Bath leapt 23' 8.25". Jones also ran the 100-meter dash, finishing in 10.49 seconds.
