Nine Flashes Earn CSC Academic All-District® Recognition

KENT, Ohio – Nine Kent State student-athletes from five different teams have received Academic All-District® honors, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced on Tuesday.
Gymnastics led the way with three student-athletes in Karlie Franz, Alyssa Guns and Sarah Haxton on the Women's At-Large Team. They were joined by Lily Miller (lacrosse), Hester Sicking (golf) and Jackie Wolford (lacrosse).
Cade Breitenstine (golf), Jordan Gilkison (golf) and Blake Schaffer (wrestling) were named to the Men's At-Large Team.
The CSC Academic All-District® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their respective sports and in the classroom. In order to be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic status and be starter or key reserve while maintaining at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
All honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with honorees to be announced July 16-17.
