Flashes Upended in Rocky Top

KNOXVILLE, TN- The Golden Flashes held a high-octane Tennessee offense out of the end zone in the second half in a setback at the number seven Volunteers on Saturday night at Neyland Stadium.
JD Sherrod led a host of Flashes that made their debut on Saturday. The redshirt freshman quarterback rushed seven times for 56 yards and a long of 30. Freshman back Jordan Lowe was right behind him with 32 yards on seven totes.
Defensively, Matt Harmon had two stops in the backfield including a sack. Rocco Nicholl led the squad with 10 tackles while Khalib Johns adding eight. The Volunteers showed why they are a top-10 team in the country with 11 scoring drives on Saturday night.
The Flashes close out the non-conference next Saturday, making the trek back into Pennsylvania to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network and the Kent State Radio Network.
