Athens, Ohio- The Kent State soccer team drew with the Ohio Bobcats 0-0 on a wet Sunday afternoon in Athens.
Both sides generated some goal scoring opportunities in the first 45 minutes but neither team could find the go-ahead goal. Goalkeeper Heidi Marshall made a pair of terrific saves in the 9th and 27th minutes in one-on-one opportunities to keep the score level.
The Flashes came out of the halftime break and generated a goal-scoring opportunity in the 47th minute. Alanna Raimondo played a long through ball up to Alisa Arthur who got around the last defender but couldn't take the last touch around the Ohio goalie. Jules Dolinski took the rebound of the Arthur shot and shot it near post but was caught by Celeste Sloma in net
Ohio did put what would've been the go-ahead goal in the back of the net in the 89th minute, but the officials ruled the Bobcat attacker offside.
The Flashes' back line of Kelsey Salopek, Ali Weibel, Ava Todd, and Allison Collins had another strong game in MAC play as they have allowed just one goal through 360 minutes.
In the box score the Flashes trailed the Bobcats in shots (8-17), shots on goal (2-4), and corner kick opportunities (4-8). Marshall recorded 4 saves in net en route to her fourth shutout of the season.
