
Four Flashes Post Double-Digit Kills in Five-Set Loss

OXFORD, Ohio โ Four Kent State attackers posted at least 14 kills in a 3-2 (21-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 10-15) setback against Miami on Thursday evening.
The Golden Flashes (7-12, 2-6 MAC) totaled a season-high 69 kills in the match, which was 14 more than their host.
Senior Mackenzie McGuire was the team leader with 17 kills, while junior Mercedez Brown (16), freshman Macie Moreland (15) and sophomore Nadia Miller (14) all set new career-high marks. Junior Christina Vigil helped put them in position to terminate and finished with a career-high 51 assists and added 16 digs.
A pair of Flashes recorded at least 20 digs for the first time this season. In her new role as libero, sophomore Hailey Brenner led all players with a career-high 25 digs, and freshman Catie Patterson had a career-high 20 digs. McGuire also set a new career-high with 19 digs.
Kent State will attempt to split the weekend series with Miami on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
