
Kent State Sweeps Miami in MAC Road Contest

OXFORD, Ohio โ Kent State defeated Miami, 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-22), inside of Millett Hall on Friday evening for its first road sweep of a Mid-American Conference opponent since 2022.
The Golden Flashes (8-12, 3-6 MAC) posted a team hitting percentage of .324 or higher in two sets and finished the match with a .245 mark. Senior Mackenzie McGuire was the top attacker with 19 kills and an impressive .405 hitting percentage. Freshman Macie Moreland followed a career night on Thursday with 13 kills and hit at a .310 clip.
On defense, McGuire and sophomore Hailey Brenner shared the lead with 13 digs each. Sophomore Lesley Furuta and freshman Catie Patterson both added 11 digs. Sophomore Nadia Miller had a team-high five blocks.
Junior Christina Vigil displayed a complete skill set and totaled 36 assists, 12 digs, four blocks and two kills.
Kent State closes the regular season with six of nine matches at the M.A.C. Center, beginning next Thursday and Friday (Oct. 23-24) against Central Michigan.
