Flashes Fall to Bulls in First Road MAC Contest

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Kent State volleyball team lost to Buffalo, 3-0 (21-25, 16-25, 24-26) in its first road Mid-American Conference contest of the season on Friday evening.
Senior Mercedez Brown posted her team-leading fourth double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs. Junior Nadia Miller, sophomore Macie Moreland and freshman Ashley Verhey added seven kills apiece, while senior Christina Vigil totaled 27 assists
Down 2-0, five different Golden Flashes contributed a kill as part of a 10-5 start to the third set. Buffalo eventually went back ahead, 21-20, but Kent State was the first to have a set point opportunity after a solo block by Miller made it 24-23. After a timeout, the Bulls won the next three points to conclude the match.
Kent State (6-7, 0-2 MAC) will be back in action at the M.A.C. Center next week and is scheduled to host Bowling Green on Thursday, Oct. 1 and Friday, Oct. 2.
