Kedronova Leads Flashes with Historic Performance in Landfall Tradition Round Two

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Veronika Kedronova of the Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel women's golf team matched the second-best individual round score in program history during Saturday's second round of the Landfall Tradition. The star junior fired a 7-under-par 65 to hold a four-stroke individual lead entering tomorrow's final round.
As a team, the Golden Flashes improved on their round one performance with a 4-over-par 292 in round two. At 14-over-par overall, Kent State is tied for ninth among the 18 teams competing in a really strong field. North Carolina leads the Landfall Tradition after 36 holes at 4-under-par, leading second-placed UCF at 1-under-par.
Kedronova will be seeking the second consecutive and fifth overall individual win of her collegiate career on Sunday after a phenomenal round two. The Czech international fired eight birdies on Saturday and leads the 96-golfer field with 13 birdies in her opening two rounds. Her career-best round of 65 matches seven other golfers for second-best in program history, trailing just a 63 recorded by Pimnipa Panthong in the 2016-17 season.
Isabella Goyette, Leon Takagi, and Gracie Larsen posted Kent State's three other scores countable toward the team total on Saturday. Goyette improved with a 2-over-par 74, highlighted by an eagle at hole no. 4. Goyette is tied for 45th place at 5-over-par overall ahead of round three. Takagi also improved with a 4-over-par 76 in round two. The lone senior on Kent State's roster is tied for 80th place at 11-over-par entering Sunday's final round. Larsen rounded out the lineup with a 5-over-par 77 on Saturday. The Australian international is tied for 61st place at 8-over-par with 18 holes to play.
The Golden Flashes will wrap up the Landfall Collegiate with round three tee times set to begin at 8:45 on Sunday morning.
