Flashes Drop Season Finale at App State

BOONE, N.C. – The Kent State field hockey team wrapped up the 2025 season on Friday afternoon at App State, falling 9-0 to the Mountaineers. The Golden Flashes close the season with a 4-11 overall clip after going 3-6 in conference play.
After an evenly contested opening ten minutes, App State found two goals in quick succession to establish an advantage the Mountaineers would not relinquish. After App State made the score 3-0 in the second quarter, Kent State had a golden opportunity to gain some momentum with seconds remaining in the half, but a key defensive save kept the shutout intact for the Mountaineers.
App State put the offense in another gear as the second half commenced, tallying two goals in the third quarter and four goals in the fourth quarter to close out an emphatic 9-0 victory over the Flashes.
Allison Wood had seven saves in the cage for Kent State, while freshman defender Emily Robertson added a defensive save for Kent State
With the negative result on the final day of the season, the Golden Flashes miss out on a 2025 MAC Tournament berth, which is earned by finishing in the top six of the conference standings in the regular season.
