12/5/2025 10:01:00 AM | Women's Basketball
The Kent State women's basketball team will play its final road non-conference game of the season on Saturday against former Mid-American Conference member Marshall. Tip from the Cam Henderson Center is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Golden Flashes (4-5) seek their first win against a school out of the Sun Belt Conference, previously falling to James Madison (48-80) in the season opener and then to Arkansas State (54-74) this past Sunday in the title game of the 2025 Baha Mar Hoops Nassau Championship Goombay Division. Kent State fell behind early, as A-State made seven of its season-high 14 three-point field goals during the first quarter to lead 33-16 after 10 minutes of action. The Flashes won the next two periods but were unable to trim the deficit below 10 before scoring just three points during a sloppy fourth quarter. Tatiana Thomas provided a bright spot with career-high totals of 17 points and four steals.
Junior Mya Babbitt is the MAC's fourth leading scorer at 15.8 points per game and has two of the top four single-game scoring performances in the league. Babbitt is tied for second in the MAC with 22 three-point field goals and is the Flashes' second leading rebounder (4.7 rpg). Juniors Janae Tyler (9.9 ppg) and Riley Rismiller (8.1 ppg) provide low post options. Rismiller has two double-doubles and ranks seventh in the MAC in rebounding with 7.1 per game. Senior Dionna Gray (4.7 ppg) is sixth in the MAC in assists with 4.7 per game.
