
Gymnastics Set for B1G Road Meet on Saturday

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State gymnastics team returns to action on Saturday with their first non-conference meet since January 16, as they travel to Piscataway, New Jersey, to take on a pair of Big Ten opponents in Rutgers and Michigan in a tri-meet at Jersey Mike's Arena.
ABOUT THE FLASHES
The Flashes have competed in three consecutive conference meets entering Saturday's contest, boasting a 3-0 record in the MAC and improving to 6-0 overall. Kent State has opened conference action with three consecutive scores of 195.200 or better, including a season-best 195.425 at Eastern Michigan. In the Flashes' most recent meet at Northern Illinois, Nene Alvine and Alyssa Guns were big contributors. Alvine earned a season-high all-around score of 39.150, winning on vault with a 9.825 and tallying an impressive 9.875 to finish runner-up on the floor. Guns was the event winner of the floor as her 9.900 marked her third consecutive meet earning a 9.900 or better in the event. Another highlight for the Flashes was the performance of Ashley Morgan on beam, who won the event with a new career-high 9.825.
SCOUTING RUTGERS
The Scarlet Knights boast an 11-4 overall record, 1-3 in Big Ten contests, in the 2025 season. Most recently, they suffered a 195.975-194.450 defeat at Iowa. Rutgers earned a season-high score of 194.900 to claim first place at the Fisk MLK Jr. Invitational quad-meet back in mid-January. Delaney Adrian leads the Rutgers in the all-around, with a season-high of 38.950.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
The Wolverines are 6-2 overall with a 3-1 record in the Big Ten. Michigan is ranked 16th in RoadToNational's national rankings, which are based on average score. The Wolverines have improved throughout each meet this season, earning a season-high 197.100 in a win over no. 25 Nebraska last Sunday. Graduate student Carly Bauman ranks inside the top 30 nationally in three events: 16th on uneven bars, 19th on beam, and 26th on floor.
SERIES HISTORY
The Flashes are 6-2 all-time against the Scarlet Knights. Kent State currently holds a two-meet win streak over Rutgers, with both wins coming in 2022 in both Kent and Piscataway.
Kent State is 10-15 in the all-time series against the Wolverines. Michigan currently holds a ten meet win streak in the series, most recently adding a victory over the Flashes in last season's Ann Arbor NCAA Regional.
