
Shaw Earns Shot Put Gold at MAC Indoor T&F Championships

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Aliesha Shaw won gold in the shot put on Saturday as Kent State finished tied for fourth at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Women's Track and Field Championships.
After finishing runner-up each of the past two years, Shaw recorded an indoor personal-best throw of 51'-2.75" on her third attempt of the competition to finally stand atop the podium at the conference meet. Aubrey Schoeneman also scored points for the Golden Flashes in the event with a mark of 48'-1.75" for fifth place.
Amryne Chilton earned All-MAC Second Team honors in both the 200-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay. Chilton sprinted to second in the 200m in 24.15 seconds and later ran the second leg of the relay race. Ella Baker, Jericha Petrella and Marinna Atanmo were the other members of the relay squad that finished second in 3:48.44.
Kent State totaled nine points in the triple jump. Keeli Dunaway placed third with a mark of 40'-7" and Lanee Hall soared 39'-8.75" to finish sixth.
Gabrielle Hammonds set a PR and took fifth in the 60-meter hurdles. Hammonds' time of 8.60 seconds is tied for the sixth fastest in school history.
Anna Jones also ran a PR and placed sixth in the mile with a time of 4:54.44.
Grace Adegoke tied her personal-best by clearing 5'-7.75" to share sixth in the high jump.
Yissis Cortijo Dominc also earned a point for the Flashes, clocking a time of 24.92 seconds in the 200m.
