
Kent State Opens Outdoor Track and Field Season with Pair of Meets in Texas

The Kent State track and field program heads to the Lone Star State to open the outdoor season and will have athletes in action at the University of Texas' 97th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and Texas State University's Bobcat Invitational and Multis.
The Golden Flashes have 19 student-athletes entered for competition at the meets, which will take place from Thursday, March 27 through Saturday, March 29.
Four athletes who qualified for the NCAA East Regionals last year will be in action this weekend. Ayden Bath and Jaheim Jones will compete in two events each, with Bath entered in the men's 110-meter hurdles and long jump and Jones in the men's 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. On the women's side, Amryne Chilton will run the 200m and Svenia De Coninck will compete in the high jump.
Alexandre Malanda will be in action in the men's triple jump and is coming off First Team All-America honors in the event during the indoor season.
The college portion of the Texas Relays will be streamed on SEC Network+ on Friday and Saturday.
The Flashes will remain in the area next weekend and compete at Slippery Rock's Dave Labor Invitational on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
