
Flashes Head to Dayton to Take on Raiders

KENT- The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team will take a quick road trip down to Dayton for a Tuesday afternoon mid-week game against the Wright State Raiders. First pitch on Tuesday Mar. 11 is set for 3 p.m.
There will be no stream for the game, but live stats will be provided.
Last Time Out
The Flashes baseball team took two out of three games in the series from Northern Illinois to clinch their first series win of the Mid-American Conference season.
Kent State opened the weekend with a run-rule victory over Northern Illinois defeating them 15-5 in eight innings. Kent State would take the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Brody Williams RBI double. The Flashes would enact the run-rule with a eight run bottom of the eighth that contained RBI hits by Hayden Jatczak and Sawyer Solitaria, two bases loaded hit by pitches, a fielder's choice, and a wild pitch.
The Flashes would battle in game two, but their ninth inning comeback would come up just short.
Kent state would take the rubber-match to clinch their first series win of the MAC season. The teams exchanged runs in the early innings, but Jake Casey would give the Flashes the lead in the bottom of the sixth with a grand slam to dead center field.

Scouting Wright State
Wright State were picked to repeat as champions in the Horizon League preseason coaches' poll. The raiders received 33 of the total points and three first place votes.
The Raiders enter Tuesday's matchup at 4-9 on the young season and are 1-0 at home with a win over the Miami RedHawks. The Raiders were swept by the North Carolina State Wolfpack over the weekend.
Sophomore, JP Peltier, powers the Raiders offense. The infielder has started all 13 games for wright State and leads or is tied for the team lead in home runs (6), RBIs (11), total bases (34), slugging percentage (.667), and OPS (1.000).
On Deck for the Flashes
Kent State will return home for their MAC 'bye week" and welcome the Hofstra Pride to the friendly confines of Schoonover Stadium for a three-game weekend series.
